Kyren Wilson Secures Comeback Victory to Reach Snooker International Championship Final

In a thrilling display of resilience, Kyren Wilson staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Fan Zhengyi 9-6 in the semi-finals of the Snooker International Championship. The victory propels Wilson into back-to-back finals, further cementing his status as one of the most consistent performers on the professional circuit this season.

The match began with a dominant performance from Fan Zhengyi, who took an early lead and appeared to have the momentum to secure a place in the final. However, the tide turned dramatically in the second half of the match. Fan, who had been playing with composure and precision, suffered a sudden loss of form, often described by observers as a ’total collapse.’ Wilson capitalized on his opponent’s errors, stringing together a series of frames to dismantle Fan’s lead and eventually secure a 6-1 run that sealed the match.

Following the match, Wilson expressed his admiration for the tournament’s other semi-finalist, Chang Bingyu, referring to him as a ‘scoring machine’ and anticipating a tough challenge in the final. For Fan Zhengyi, the loss was a difficult pill to swallow. In post-match comments, he noted his preference for longer-format matches, suggesting that the shorter duration of the semi-final did not allow him enough time to regain his rhythm once his momentum was lost. As Wilson prepares for the final, the snooker world looks on to see if he can maintain his current form and claim another major title in what has been a standout season for the Englishman.
