Baidu Maps Showcases Spacetime Intelligence at Wuzhen Summit

At the 2026 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Baidu Maps took center stage to demonstrate its latest advancements in ‘spacetime intelligence.’ The company emphasized its commitment to opening its underlying infrastructure, aiming to make mapping capabilities a ‘standard component’ for artificial intelligence applications. This move is part of a broader industry push to integrate spatial data more deeply into the fabric of AI development.

The Wuzhen Summit served as a platform for various tech giants to showcase their latest innovations. While Baidu focused on the utility of mapping, other companies like 360 were also in the spotlight, though some observers noted that their strong focus on security sometimes overshadowed their AI achievements. The summit highlighted the transition from theoretical technology demonstrations to practical, real-world applications, with many ‘black technology’ solutions proving their efficacy in operational environments.

Collaboration and open-source development were recurring themes throughout the event. Participants discussed how the ‘digital intelligence future’ can be shaped through shared resources and collaborative ecosystems. The introduction of specific features, such as the OPC characteristic competition, underscored the importance of individual contribution and human-centric design in the advancement of technology.

As the industry moves forward, the integration of mapping services into the AI stack is expected to unlock new possibilities for autonomous driving, smart city management, and logistics. By providing a standardized, high-precision spatial foundation, Baidu aims to empower developers to build more sophisticated and reliable AI systems. The Wuzhen Summit has clearly signaled that the next phase of the digital revolution will be defined by the seamless convergence of physical space and artificial intelligence.
